Mary Evans Picture Library has been a leading supplier of historical, vintage and heritage images for almost 50 years. The collection specialises in pictures of the past in the very broadest sense, from prehistoric dinosaurs to 1970s office scenes; medieval torture chambers to art deco fashion plates. While the library provides up-to-the-minute technology for searches and delivery, it has a continuous commitment to providing expert picture research and deep file searches in its extensive archive of original material. However, 24 hour download access from the website is available to registered clients should you wish to research yourself.
Our collection of portraits, events and places you might expect to see, but the library also holds a wide range of material on costume, transport, travel, fine art, film, entertainment, advertising, domestic life, science, nature, war, politics, royalty, industry and social conditions, not to mention unrivalled material on folklore and the paranormal.
